The Next Generation Keeps the Same Foundation – No New Age!

Today, more people are being awakened to an emptiness, a spiritual void that needs to be filled in order for them to truly feel alive. As Christians, we turn to God to fill this void because He is the supplier of all our needs. The New Age Movement is an antichrist. It is in direct contrast to the will of God, in title and in practices and has “a form of godliness but [denies] the power thereof…”; we should turn away from it (2 Timothy 3:5). Some people refuse to acknowledge God, and would rather worship astrology and the earth. They have become dependent on tangible items and theoretical practices to guide their way. Some turn to horoscopes, sage, crystals, rocks, ouija boards, incantations, fortune tellers/palm readers/psychics /mediums/ soothsayers and connecting with ancestors for their spiritual awakening. Romans 1:25 tells us that they “changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever.
When you examine the reasons why people believe in horoscopes, they desire to find answers to unexplainable things, allowing them to create their own narrative for their lives. The Bible never said that God gave stars spiritual authority; therefore, using stars as a god or idol is wrong. He has provided the stars and constellations for physical light, and they were also instrumental in helping depict times and seasons, such as what we see meteorologists do when they give us weather forecasts. Many people choose to use crystals for personal empowerment and development. They often look to crystals for protection, when ironically, it is those same crystals that place them in danger. Ephesians 5:11 admonishes us to “have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.”
The New Age Movement causes individuals to desire to want to know and experience situations for themselves, hence, causing them to perpetually engage in these practices. We are here to encourage and enlighten you that we “…[have] not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but [we] have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.” This means that we don’t have to rely on terms like “energy”, out of the traditional context, to become a part of our normal vocabulary, without understanding where they are coming from. This is proven true, in that while technology changes and advances, the things we experience remain the same or are simply recycled events. Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it.” In a time of heightened apostacy, we choose to live life God’s way so we will not end up like Saul and many others.
Even with all that has been said, we know that the time has come when people do not want to hear and abide in sound doctrine. Because of their stubbornness, they find their own teachers, cling to demonic entities and teachings, go after their own lusts, and have itching ears (2 Timothy 4:1-3). When someone has itching ears, they typically have an infection and will eventually become deaf, live in pain, and be thrown off balance. If you have found yourself in any of these practices, we implore you to turn immediately! God desires that we forsake sin, but if we are guilty, we have an advocate in Jesus who will forgive, cleanse and lead us onto perfection. Everything that we need is found in Jesus (Psalm 23, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:3).
We learn in Philippians 4:8 that we should think and engage in things that are true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtue, and praise. This is why “wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”; we should not forsake wisdom but hold onto it for dear life, as it will bring honor, promotion, and preservation (Proverbs 4:6-9).
Remember the blog on Halloween? If not, check it out! We learned that we do not have to participate in anything that doesn’t edify us or glorify God. We are free to be different, be a light in the world, and participate in winning souls and preserving the remnant. We can embrace our youth in our talents, opportunities, and even our fashion, as long as it pleases the Lord. Many souls are dying, but there is still hope and it is our duty to share and to care. God reminded Israel, and He is still reminding us today that He “know[s] the thoughts that [He] think toward[s] [us] … thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give [us] an expected end” (Jeremiah 29:11). We can relinquish our prideful desires of control of our unknown future and remember that the gift of God is eternal life (Romans 6:23).

and ye shall find rest for your souls”
