Dear President Biden,
In 1989 the United Nations adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the most widely ratified international human rights treaty in history. The vision of the convention was to offer the rights and responsibilities to each child, appropriate to his or her age, to enable them to reach their full potential.
In almost all developing countries, children and young people make up the majority of the population – up to 70 percent in some cases. The number of children adopted in the United States are 29,325 being White, 11,631 being Hispanic, and 9,588 being Blacks. People ask why Black babies are cheaper? It is because in the U.S., prospective parents seek to adopt white and mixed-race children more than Blacks. In 2017, there were 400,000 children in foster care, awaiting adoption. Of those, 44 percent who were white were placed in loving families, with the help of public agencies.
